The Arkenstone Elixir: A Hobbit-Inspired Mocktail
Delicate, floral, and sparkling, this shimmering mocktail was inspired by the Arkenstone, the jewel of legend, treasure of Erebor, and symbol of power and beauty that ignited the hearts of Dwarves. Inspired by the colours shown in the movie and a soft floral flavor borrowed from the liqueur Parfait Amour, this drink feels equally at home in an elvish woodland banquet or at a dwarven feast beneath the mountain. ideal for Hobbit Day, a Lord of the Rings movie night, or your next fantasy-themed gathering.
Quote
“Ever they delved deep, down into the dark and that is where they found it, the Heart of the Mountain… the Arkenstone.”
The Hobbit, J.R.R.Tolkien

The Inspiration: The Arkenstone in The Hobbit
The Arkenstone shimmers as a “little globe of pallid light,” but when light touches it, the stone transforms into “ten thousand sparks of white radiance, shot with glints of the rainbow.”
The Dwarves love this precious stone, so this mocktail uses Parfait Amour, a French liqueur whose name means ‘perfect love’.
Why You’ll Love It
- It looks magical! Use a swirl of edible shimmer to mimic Tolkien’s description of the Arkenstone: “ten thousand sparks of white radiance, shot with glints of the rainbow.”
- Floral and citrus notes make it taste enchanting and bright.
Must-Have Serving Tip
Tip: Edible shimmer adds a jewel-like appearance to your drink, but when serving this cocktail, place the cocktail glasses or bowl on a glass shelf ( Ikea!) and a soft LED light beneath the glass to echo the rainbow glow.
