Annabeth’s Popcorn Ambrosia Bars: Emergency Healing for Demigods

In Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, ambrosia is more than a mythical delicacy that gods feast on; it’s a healing lifeline for demigods in an emergency. In the sequel to the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, Annabeth finds herself in crippling pain after breaking her ankle after bringing down the cavern of Mithras and jumping to escape.

Create Your Own Ambrosia

Since ambrosia tastes like the eater’s favourite flavors, what ambrosia tastes like, is really up to you! You can also make Percy Jackson’s warm fudgy brownie version of ambrosia.

Annabeth’s ambrosia tastes of comforting buttered popcorn. As ambrosia is served in the form of bars, this quick and easy recipe makes 24 squares to take on an adventure or serve up for a Percy Jackson party.

Is Ambrosia the same in the Percy Jackson series and classic Greek mythology?

Quote

“This qualified as an emergency. She dug the godly food out of her pack and wolfed it down. As usual, it tasted like comforting memories. This time it was buttered popcorn—movie night with her dad at his place in San Francisco, no stepmom, no stepbrothers, just Annabeth and her father curled up on the sofa watching sappy old romantic comedies.”
