Peter Rabbit Coat Template

Inspired by the image from Beatrix Potter’s tales where Peter’s coat and shoes are repurposed as a scarecrow in Mr McGregor’s garden, this simple DIY project allows you to craft a sweet and simple centrepiece with no sewing required.

Make Your Own Peter Rabbit Coat

Materials Needed:

30cm by 30cm square baby blue felt
Peter Rabbit jacket template (links below)
White chalk
3 brads for fastening
Fabric tape or glue
For Standard Size: Two wooden rods or dowels
For Smaller Version: Two chopsticks

Create the Peter Rabbit Coat:

Download and print Peter Rabbit jacket template. Available in A3 for a full-size coat, or in two A4 pages for a smaller version. Links are provided at the end of this post.
Lay template over your felt square and trace the outline. Use a fabric chalk for clearer and easily removable markings.
Use small scissors to make holes in the felt where the brads should be inserted.
Carefully cut out the coat shape from the felt.
Secure the brads in place.
Apply fabric adhesive along the edges to seal coat.
To display the coat, tie two thin wooden rods (or chopsticks) together with an elastic band to create a simple frame to hang the coat.
