DIY Hogwarts Potion Bottle Fairy Lights | Harry Potter

You might’ve seen the adorable potion bottle fairy lights from Primark pop up on Instagram or in Harry Potter room tours. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to a UK Primark store… or maybe you’d just prefer labels that look a little more like the real wizarding world.
This easy DIY is the perfect weekend craft. Recreate your own glowing potions using just a few materials and they make a magical addition to bookshelves, dorm rooms, party tables, or even Halloween displays.

Materials You’ll Need
- Potion Labels from Harry Potter Wikia
- Battery-operated LED fairy lights (plus batteries!)
- Small 30mL craft bottles with cork tops (one for each light)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- A large knitting needle or skewer
- Scissors
- White mail labels with sticky backing (Word template usually available via product code)
Instructions
- Download Labels: Head to Harry Potter Wikia and copy potion bottle labels. Paste into a Word document using the mail label template.
- Print + Cut: Print onto sticky labels, then cut out each label carefully.
- Stick to Bottles: Press one label onto each bottle for a perfectly wizarding finish.
- Pierce Corks: Use a knitting needle or skewer to poke a hole through each cork large enough for a fairy light to fit through.
- Insert Lights: Carefully thread each light through the corks.
- Glue and Seal: Run a thin line of hot glue around the edge of each cork. Press into bottle neck to seal the light inside.
- Light It Up!: Pop in your batteries, switch them on, and hang your fairy lights over a bookshelf, bedframe, or across your party setup.
